Conservative grassroots organizer Kaycee Cavender has announced her run for Alabama House District 40.

"I am running for the State House because our families deserve a fighter who will protect our values, defend our freedoms, and ensure that Montgomery finally works for us," Cavender said. "For too long, our district has sent hard-earned tax dollars to Montgomery without seeing a fair return. It's time we bring that money home, strengthen our local economy, and protect the way of life that makes Cleburne and Calhoun Counties so special."

Cavender, who co-founded Health Freedom Alabama in 2021 to champion a bill to ban vaccine passports, has continued to lead statewide initiatives for health freedom, parental rights, government accountability, and legislative transparency.

Her priorities are cutting taxes and ending wasteful spending, protecting conservative values and returning local tax dollars to District 40, which includes Cleburne County and parts of Calhoun County.

"My goal is simple: stand up for the people who feel unheard, unprotected, and overlooked. District 40 deserves a representative with the backbone to say no to the nonsense and yes to the families who call this place home," Cavender added.

As a small-business owner and homeschooling mother of four, Cavender vowed to fight for small businesses and protect children from political indoctrination.

Cavender and her husband, Robert, live in Heflin with their four children.

The primary election will be held on May 19, 2026, and the general election will be held on November 3, 2026.
