Most folks in Alabama remember only the ending of HealthSouth, the billion-dollar health behemoth started by Selma's Richard Scrushy.
The ending was not good, with allegations of cooking the books and financial fraud. The quick success unraveled just as quickly.

Richard Scrushy did a lot of things right — spectacularly right — especially in the early years. He probably could write a book about taking a business idea, starting it, and rapidly growing it at an exponential rate.
