A southern homecoming week wouldn’t be the same without the traditional “rolling of the yards.”
Kids come together to trash yards and cars with toilet paper. In most towns, the most popular kids and teachers are hit, and it’s all in the name of fun. If that holds true, it’s safe to say school kids in Cleburne County love the Heflin Police Department.
The police department and several patrol vehicles were rolled with toilet paper overnight. While police said the act was “a little uncalled for,” they promised payback.
“We know who you are and while you just put the play station controller down for a week, we are children of the 80s and 90s who perfected this craft years ago,” the department posted on Facebook. “Good luck in the game tomorrow night, and we will see you next month.”
The Cleburne County Tigers will play the Welborn Panthers tonight for homecoming. The game begins at 7 p.m.
