The U.S. economy under President Donald Trump shattered expectations in the latest report from the Bureau of Economic Analysis, showing strong growth and lower inflation in the third quarter of this year.

According to the report, delayed by the government shutdown, gross domestic product (GDP) grew 4.3% from July through September, surpassing the predicted 3.2%

Trump also touted low November inflation — down to 2.7% — and credited tariffs and his pro-growth policies for the positive economic report.

Several of Alabama's federal lawmakers praised Trump for his economic leadership and the impact of the growth on American consumers.

"Just eleven months into his Administration and @POTUS has delivered the strongest economic growth in the last two years," U.S. Rep. Barry Moore (R-Enterprise), a GOP candidate for U.S. Senate, said. "American families are better with President Trump's Administration in charge!"

U.S. Sen. Katie Britt (R-Montgomery) said, "Economic growth just shattered expectations, inflation is at its lowest level since 2021, and gas prices are at their lowest level in four years. President Trump and @SenateGOP's policies are helping make America affordable for working families again."

U.S. Rep. Robert Aderholt (R-Haleyville) posted on X, "The U.S. economy posted great GDP growth, showing the strength and resilience of our nation. Under President Trump's leadership, pro-growth policies are delivering results for American workers, families, and businesses."
