Trust in the U.S. government took a nosedive during the COVID-19 pandemic, and perhaps no agency was harder hit than the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

Admiral Brian Christine, who now serves as the department's assistant secretary under Secretary Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., recently joined "1819 News: The Podcast" to discuss how the Trump administration is working to boost morale and earn back the public's trust by undoing many of the harmful Biden-era polices.

Christine's appointment to the HHS drew a stark contrast from the previous administration when it came to addressing public health, abortion, vaccination, nutrition and transgender issues.

"So the prior assistant secretary for Health under Joe Biden was Admiral Levine, Richard Levine, Rachel Levine," he said. "Admiral Levine, absolutely a man in a woman's dress who was there, I think, placed in because of the whole transgender worship that the left seems to have. I will tell you that morale in the Commission Corps of the Public Health Service… There are so many officers who have come to me and said, we are so happy that you are now the Assistant Secretary for Health, that we have someone who really cares about the country, who really cares about the Corps, and who wouldn't simply be prancing around simply to try to make some kind of a statement from the left. So I'm blessed to be where I am."

Christine and Dawson said Americans should be encouraged by the strong leadership of President Donald Trump and his administration, but it's up to voters to ensure Trump's agenda succeeds beyond the midterms.

"When you have the boldness and courage in Donald Trump and J.D. Vance and Secretary Kennedy and everybody else, it's emboldening all of us, right? And just what that does for morale in the country, I think, has been really, really incredible," Dawson said. "And we're going to need it because the left is not going to give up without a fight."

Christine responded, "They're never going to stop. And so we have to keep our foot on the accelerator about doing what's right. We have to keep pushing for good health in this country. And we, again, I come back to it, we have to remember, we have to get out and vote. And November is so critically important for this country. It is so critically important for the Make America Healthy Again movement and the Make America Great Again movement. I want everybody who hears this, make sure you vote. But tell your friends in other places, other districts, other states, other parts of the country, get out and vote. Because if we don't, it's not going to be good. To continue to do the great things and have the big wins that President Trump always delivers, we've got to have people out voting."
