The Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Honduran national in connection with the attempted murder of a Hispanic man who was stabbed at a soccer game.
The stabbing occurred on July 19 in Summerdale. Deputies conducted interviews and determined that their suspect was Jefferson Javier Lopez-Tinoco, 20.
Lopez-Tinoco was arrested during a traffic stop on July 29. He was charged with attempted murder. At the time of his arrest, deputies found four bags of cocaine and added an unlawful possession of a controlled substance charge.
The Department of Homeland Security Gulf of America Task Force was contacted. An immigration detainer has been placed on Lopez-Tinoco.
