A man accused of hiring a hitman to kill his wife and her six kids has pleaded guilty to federal charges.

U.S. Attorney Prim Escalona said Mohammad A.H. Mohammad, 64, of Hoover, pleaded guilty in the murder-for-hire plot where he offered $20,000 for his wife's death and $5,000 for each of their children.

According to court documents, the two were married in March 2021, and later that year, the wife filed a protection-from-abuse petition claiming abuse. For two years, the woman and the children were continually abused, harassed and stalked.

After meeting with an undercover FBI agent and making a deal and a down payment, Mohammad was arrested.

Mohammad faces 10 years in prison.
