State House Majority Leader Rep. Scott Stadthagen (R-Hartselle) is encouraging Alabamians to let their voices be heard ahead of the 2026 legislative session.

On a recent episode of "Priority Talk," Stadthagen previewed what to expect this session, which starts early this year on January 13. Whether it's education, healthcare, gambling — which he doesn't expect to come up this session — or another issue, he said it's vital for constituents to have their voices heard.

"You need to definitely let your members, your senators and your House members know where you stand," Stadthagen said.

"The reason why we are where we are, because people have been quiet. People have been scared to talk, number one, because of backlash on social media," he continued. "But people are scared to voice their opinions because of backlash. And that's the reason why we are where we are today. If people really voiced their opinions and told people how they felt, you know, you've got an army. Jesus is with us, right? We are an army, and we're outnumbered, but it's OK. And at the end of the day, we should not be quiet on anything that's wrong. We should voice our opinions, and we should stand firmly and be prepared if there is."
