Republican candidate for U.S. Senate and former Navy SEAL Jared Hudson continues to hit U.S. Rep. Barry Moore (R-Enterprise) ahead of next week's GOP Senate runoff election, alleging Moore has intentionally lied to Alabama voters about his veteran status.

"Barry Moore is under fire regarding his military record. Moore continues to misdirect and lie to Alabama voters," Hudson said in a campaign email on Tuesday. "Moore misrepresented his service record, got caught, and is now trying to cover it up. He’s wrong, he knows it, and he is hiding behind D.C. lawyers to cover it up. [He] took taxpayer money for ROTC and never served a day of active duty. According to the clear federal definition of the term "veteran" and his own military records, he is not actually a veteran."

Hudson disputed Moore's use of a VA Choice ID card to show his status as a veteran.

"When questioned about his service, Moore produced a VA Choice ID card that anyone who served at any level can get. It is NOT an actual Veteran ID Card (VIC) one would use to access veterans’ benefits. Moore never received a Military Occupational Specialty (MOS)."

"When political candidates (Tim Walz and Wes Moore, for example) claim a military status they have not earned, it is always of significant interest to voters," Hudson added.
