The Florence Police Department discovered remains that it believes are those of a woman reported missing on May 18.
A missing persons alert was sent after Autumn Paige Strickland disappeared. Authorities believed she was in danger.
On Tuesday, remains were found at a residence in the 2200 block of N. Wood Avenue.
“I want to commend our detectives for their tireless work and dedication throughout this case, and the continued support and assistance from the community,” said Lt. Jason Ford.
Police believe Strickland was intentionally struck by a vehicle.
The remains were sent to a forensics lab for official testing and proper identification.
Police arrested Logan Rogers, 28, of Florence, and charged him with murder. Rogers is being held in the Lauderdale County Detention Center with no bond.
Rogers will have an Aniah’s Law hearing to determine whether prosecutors can hold him without bond until his trial.
