A Huntingdon College basketball player is in the intensive care unit after suffering a medical emergency.
Gregory Johnson III collapsed while on campus. After undergoing tests, doctors determined that Johnson must undergo a procedure to regulate his heart rhythm.
The 6-foot, 5-inch-tall freshman signed with Huntingdon College last year from Springwood Preparatory School in Lanett. Coaches said Johnson is the perfect picture of a dedicated athlete. He was acknowledged for his leadership and positive attitude.
A GoFundMe account has been set up to help the family from Opelika travel to and from the hospital and cover recovery needs.
