Following a police chase in Kentucky, a Huntsville man was arrested and booked on almost a dozen charges in a local detention center.

Cordarrius D. Grays, 28, was pursued by law enforcement on the evening of September 24 after he threatened an individual with a firearm in a grocery store parking lot, eventually fleeing the scene in a stolen vehicle.

According to the Scottsville Police Department in Kentucky, shortly after receiving the call about the incident from the victim, officers began searching the area for a vehicle matching the reported description. A short time later, authorities located the vehicle, a silver Toyota Camry, and attempted to pull Grays over without success, resulting in the pursuit.

The chase ended a short time later with Grays being detained and booked into the Allen County Detention Center on a $50,000 cash bond.

Grays has been charged with the following offenses:

  • Fleeing or evading police-motor vehicle
  • Theft by unlawful taking-automobile
  • Possession of a handgun by convicted felon
  • Theft by unlawful taking-firearm
  • Wanton endangerment
  • Wanton endangerment-police officer
  • Terroristic threatening
  • Operating motor vehicle under the influence of a controlled substance
  • Operating on suspended driver's license
  • Disregarding traffic control device
  • Reckless driving
