In a Facebook post, Hoover City Councilwoman Khristi Driver announced that she is running to retain her current seat representing Hoover City Council Place 4.

Driver told 1819 News in a written statement, "I’m excited to run for my first full term on the council. Since being appointed, I believe our city has made significant progress, but there is still more to accomplish."

Continuing, Driver said, "Hoover is my home. Serving as your voice in the City Council is an honor and I am committed to ensuring every voice is heard as we continue to make Hoover the best city in Alabama."

She was appointed to the seat she holds in November 2022, following Councilman Mike Shaw’s election to the State House of Representatives. Her appointment received unanimous support from her fellow council members after she met with each of them during the appointment process.

Driver told the Hoover Sun at that time, “I’ve reached that point in my career where I’ve really started to think about what my legacy will be and what I would like for people to say about me one day when I’m gone, and service is one of those things that matters a lot to me and my family,” she said. “To have this kind of an opportunity present itself really is just the kind of thing that doesn’t come along more than once, so it just felt like the right time.”

She was one of two votes on the City's Planning and Zoning Committee against the controversial Tattersall development. The Hoover Sun reported at the time that Driver cited parking as a primary concern, as well as the safety of residents, and whether there was such a demand for housing.
