Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents arrested an illegal alien from Mexico in Cullman on Wednesday who had previously been charged with sexual abuse of a child.

Adalberto Guerrero is in ICE custody after authorities found that he was in the country illegally following his arrest for abusing a child under 12 years old in 2023, according to Cullman Daily.

According to court records, Cullman County law enforcement notified ICE in May that Guerrero was on bond, living in Cullman County. Guerrero had also been arrested in 1996 in Taylor, Texas, for aggravated kidnapping. He illegally re-entered the country multiple times after the 1996 arrest, according to court records.

Cullman County District Attorney Champ Crocker told Cullman Daily, “Our office’s Investigator David Nassetta, Victim Service Officer Bradley Williams and myself worked with ICE and the victim’s family to find and apprehend Guerrero.”

“The minor victim’s family wanted Guerrero deported to his country of origin, and we helped facilitate their wishes,” Crocker said.
