The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) arrested an illegal alien on Interstate 20 in St. Clair County after a trooper discovered a large load of marijuana during a traffic stop.
The trooper was part of ALEA’s Motor Carrier Safety Unit. He conducted a commercial motor vehicle inspection on Tuesday. The driver presented an invalid driver's license, resulting in detention. It was determined that Dajun Sun was an illegal immigrant.
Further investigation revealed 23 boxes of marijuana totaling 185 pounds.
Sun was arrested and charged with drug trafficking and operating a CMV without a commercial driver’s license.
Sun was living in Oregon City, Ore., at the time of his arrest. He was booked into the St. Clair County Jail on a $1,500,000 bond.
