A Guatemalan man is facing human smuggling and kidnapping charges in DeKalb County.

Henager Police officers arrested Selvin Alirio Reyes-Lopez, 29, on Saturday after responding to a call about a kidnapped 7-month-old child, WAFF 48 reported.

Reyes-Lopez attempted to evade police but was apprehended, and the child was recovered unharmed.

On Monday, officers obtained two additional smuggling warrants for Reyes-Lopez and discovered he was a Guatemalan national in the country illegally.
