An illegal alien has been arrested by the Decatur Police Department and charged with three counts of murder for his role in a fatal car crash.
According to a local news report, Adelaido Jimenez Barrientos, 48, is accused of killing Tammaria "Tammy" Martin in Morgan County while driving under the influence of alcohol in November 2020. A grand jury indictment has indicated that Barrientos struck Martin's vehicle, ultimately leading to her death. The indictment shows three counts of murder, despite Martin being the only victim listed.
Barrientos was cited for"extreme indifference to human life" in the indictment. His blood alcohol content at the time of the fatal incident was .08.
Barrientos is being held on a $50,000 bond in the Morgan County Jail and has been placed under an ICE detainer.
A date and time for Barrientos' appearance before a judge had not been set as of Monday evening.
Further details on the arrest are expected to be released in the near future.
