A Guatemalan national has been federally indicted after biting an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent during a traffic stop in DeKalb County in December.
According to U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Alabama Prim Escalona, Antonio Juan-Juan, 30, has now been charged with forcible assault on a federal officer.
The charge of forcible assault on a federal officer carries a maximum sentence of eight years.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Brett A. Janich is prosecuting the case.
The investigation was conducted by ICE and the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office.
