An illegal immigrant arrested in Mobile County has been referred to immigration officials, U.S. Attorney Sean P. Costello of the Southern District of Alabama announced.

Manolo Elias Tecum-Tecum, 31, of Guatemala, was sentenced on May 8 for coming back to the United States after being deported in 2010.

Tecum-Tecum now has two illegal entry convictions.

The Mobile County Sheriff’s Office pulled Tecum-Tecum over for a traffic violation, leading to the latest arrest and conviction.

He was sentenced to time served, a $100 fine and one year of supervised release, which will likely be unnecessary. Once he is referred to immigration officials, deportation proceedings will begin.

The United States Border Patrol and Mobile County Sheriff’s Office investigated the case.

This case is part of Operation Take Back America.
