Multiple indictments were handed down for illegal reentry after a Homeland Security investigation in Huntsville.
U.S. Attorney Prim F. Escalona announced a federal grand jury indicted Eusebio Cruz-Zurita, 29, of Mexico; Rufino Cristobal-Reyes, 41, of Mexico; Edgar Esmain Rivas-Martinez, 37, of Honduras; Rigoberto Tzun-Garcia, 34, of Guatemala; Eleazar Suarez-Salinas, 42, of Mexico; Rodolfo Cantu-Navarrete, 45, of Mexico; Albert Obel Figueroa-Figueroa, 40, of Guatemala; Juan Gomez-Marquires, aka "Diego Torrez-Tadeo," 33, of Mexico; and Maximiliano Pablo-Cinto, 40, of Guatemala for illegal reentry.
Another illegal alien, Karim Arguello-Barraza, 22, of Mexico, was charged with being an alien in possession of a firearm.
According to complaints, Cristobal-Reyes was previously deported in 2016, 2017 and 2020; Rivas-Martinez in 2014; Tzun-Garcia in 2019; Suarez-Salinas in 2013; Cantu-Navarrete in 2020 and 2023; Figueroa-Figueroa in 2018; Gomez-Marquires in 2013; and Pablo-Cinto in 2019.
Arguello-Barraza was also ordered to leave the United States in 2022.
Those indicted are considered innocent until proven guilty.
Escalona said her office regularly trains attorneys, federal agents, and state and local law enforcement on investigating and prosecuting immigration offenses.
