The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office arrested a man wanted in a child sex assault case out of Illinois.
James Thomas Meyer, 48, was wanted for predatory criminal sexual assault. Court records in Winnebago County, Ill., state that the victim in Meyer’s case was under the age of 13.
The charges were filed on August 4. Authorities were given tips that Meyer may be in Alabama on Thursday. That’s when he was arrested in Montgomery County.
