Incumbent Enterprise Mayor Bill Cooper will face challenger Bill Baker on September 23 in a mayoral runoff after the two candidates emerged in a four-way race to be the city's chief executive.
In Tuesday's election, Cooper received 1,903 votes with Baker earning a 1,168-vote tally.
Lister Reeves, with 816 votes, and Richard Moore, with 33 votes, missed the runoff.
Cooper has been a fixture in Enterprise city government since 1987. He has served two terms as mayor and seven terms on the city council.
