Ozark Mayor Mark Blankenship lost his reelection bid on Tuesday to the city's Director of Public Safety, Charles Ward.
Ward earned a whopping 68.81% of the vote (2,072) to Blankenship's 31.19% (939), with 100% of the precincts reporting.

Blankenship was at the center of his city's library controversy, and he faced censure by the Ozark City Council in 2023.
Ward also served as the former Director of the Department of Public Safety for the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA).
