The U.S. Coast Guard announced the Intracoastal Waterway (ICW) will be closed each day this week to allow for bridge work.
Scott Bridge Company is building the new southbound-only bridge in Gulf Shores. The construction of the bridge is expected to be completed by the end of the year.
The ICW will be closed from 6:30 a.m. until 6:30 p.m. each day this week to allow workers to continue important work on the bridge.
Boats will not be allowed to pass during the closure.
