With less than 100 days until the midterm elections, U.S. Senate Republicans are warning of a potential socialist takeover if voters don’t help protect the legislature’s slim majority.
“100 days out. It’s all on the line,” U.S. Sen. Katie Britt (R-Montgomery) posted on X Sunday. Britt shared a message from the Senate Republicans account, saying, “We have 100 days to protect President Trump’s Senate Majority. Socialists are coming for your family, safety, and freedom. Failure is not an option.”
U.S. Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-Auburn) said the Senate's priority should be to pass the Save America Act before the midterms.
“If we don’t have secure elections, we don’t have a country,” the former Auburn football coach posted on X. “We are 100 days away from the midterms. This is just common sense. PASS THE SAVE AMERICA ACT.”
The Senate has an extended recess scheduled in August and October, which would drastically cut the time it has to pass any new legislation before the November midterms. President Donald Trump and a growing number of senators are calling for leadership to cancel the August recess to pass the Save America Act.
