Governor Kay Ivey appointed retired Judge J. Langford “Lang” Floyd as district judge in the 28th Judicial Circuit in Baldwin County.
“Judge Lang Floyd is well known to Baldwin County for his two decades of previous service in the 28th Judicial Circuit as a judge in both District and Circuit Court,” said Ivey. “His record of jurisprudence is well known throughout the state, and I am pleased he has agreed to return to the bench after retirement to serve the people of Baldwin County.”
Floyd retired as a judge in 2016 and has since worked in Alternative Dispute Resolution and mediation law.
“I am honored that Governor Ivey has given me this opportunity to serve the citizens of Baldwin County once again,” said Floyd. “I look forward to working with the lawyers, judges, court staff and most importantly, the people of Baldwin County to provide the access to justice that our citizens deserve.”
The district judge position became open after Ivey appointed Judge Ashley Siebert to the Baldwin County Circuit Court.
