The Alabama National Guard will begin assisting the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in deportation efforts.
Multiple National Guardsmen from various states will soon be joining the Department of Homeland Security’s nationwide anti-crime and illegal immigration operation in the coming days, according to media reports.
National Guardsmen from multiple states have already been sent to Washington, D.C. to assist in President Donald Trump’s crime crackdown.
“Governor Ivey has approved select members from the Alabama National Guard to assist ICE in processing criminal illegals for deportation,” Gina Maiola, a spokeswoman for Governor Kay Ivey, told 1819 News on Tuesday. “Separately, the governor has the Guard on standby, should we receive an additional request for boots on the ground in Washington, D.C. to combat crime in our Nation’s Capital. Governor Ivey supports President Trump in his mission to Make America Safe Again.”
Maiola declined to specify how many Alabama National Guardsmen would be assisting ICE to “protect the integrity of the mission.”
