"She is supportive of the Make America Healthy Again Movement, so if the Legislature passes a bill to eliminate certain products from SNAP, she will sign it," Ivey said.
State Sen. Arthur Orr (R-Decatur) has said he plans to reintroduce legislation during the upcoming session to make candy and soft drinks ineligible for purchase with SNAP benefits in Alabama.
Several states have enacted bans on the purchase of junk food, candy, or soda using SNAP benefits in recent years.
