Jackson Academy Christian School will be making available counselors and pastors on campus this week after a stabbing at a basketball game Friday night.

The Eagles were playing the Escambia Academy Cougars when a 16-year-old was stabbed. The teen is expected to make a full recovery.

Police arrested an 18-year-old in connection to the incident.

According to reports, Drayton Kelly is charged with attempted murder.

School officials said they are working with law enforcement during the course of the investigation.

“Our priority is to support the investigation in any way possible and to provide all necessary information to the authorities,” Jackson Academy stated. “The safety and well-being of our students, faculty and staff, as well as that of the public, are of the utmost importance to us.”
