Jared Hudson, a former U.S. Navy SEAL, will continue his candidacy for U.S. Senate despite President Donald Trump's recent endorsement of U.S. Rep. Barry Moore (R-Enterprise) in the race.
Hudson reaffirmed his full support for Trump and issued a challenge to his opponents to debate the future of Alabama face-to-face.
"I'm in this fight for the people of Alabama, and I'm not going anywhere," Hudson said. "I ran toward the fight in Afghanistan as a Navy SEAL sniper, and I'll keep that same oath to the Constitution by stopping the radical Left from destroying our country from within."
He added, "My mission in the U.S. Senate is straightforward: deport criminal illegal immigrants, lower the cost of living, put Alabama First, and stand with President Trump to Make America Great Again."
"This race is about putting Alabama First," Hudson said. "I'm the only candidate who can do that."
Hudson also challenged Alabama Attorney General Steve Marshall and Moore to a face-to-face debate.
"Let's debate," Hudson said. "No scripts. No handlers. No dodging."
The primary in Alabama is on May 19. Other announced candidates in the race include Morgan Murphy, Rodney Walker, and Dale Shelton Deas, Jr.
