The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office arrested one of its own. Cameron Xavier Lee, 21, of Birmingham, is charged with use of official position or office for personal gain.
Lee, a deputy assigned to the Jefferson County Jail, has been placed on administrative leave without pay.
According to court documents, Lee posted a $10,000 bond and was released from the jail where he worked.
The sheriff’s office said the investigation is ongoing. No details were released on the investigation.
Lee is considered innocent until proven guilty.
