Public Service Commissioner Jeremy Oden qualified for reelection on Wednesday afternoon, citing his experience and commitment to Alabamians.

“It has been the greatest honor of my life to serve the great State of Alabama on the Public Service Commission,” Oden said in a written statement. “During my time as Commissioner, Alabama’s PSC has been recognized as one of the most conservative public utility regulatory commissions in America. I am proud of that record, and I will work diligently every day to ensure our conservative PSC maintains that distinction.”

Oden has served on the commission, the state’s regulatory agency overseeing public utilities, since Gov. Robert Bentley appointed him in 2012. He ran for a full term in 2014.

Oden qualified at the Republican Party of Alabama (ALGOP) headquarters in Hoover alongside his wife of more than 23 years, Samantha, his daughter, Anika, his goddaughter, Tayler, and his god-granddaughter, Ellie.

“I am proud to be a candidate for re-election as Public Service Commissioner, Place 1, because I truly believe I am the best-qualified candidate for this job,” Oden said. “I love the people of Alabama, and I have been humbled by their continued support. I look forward to earning the opportunity to serve them again.”

Before his appointment to the PSC, Oden served in the state house serving Cullman, Blount, and Morgan.

A lifelong Republican, Oden served as a state co-chair for President Donald Trump’s 2020 presidential campaign.
