Because of the attack on Israelis by Hamas on October 7, 2023, and alarming incidents of antisemitism worldwide, the topic of Jewish people and culture in America is at the top of minds.
One avenue to study Jewish heritage and recent history is the Jewish Film Festival in Mobile and Baldwin Counties.
The festival kicked off with the new year and runs through Sunday. It is held at different venues in Mobile and Baldwin Counties.
Remaining films include:
On Tuesday: "The Levy’s of Monticello" shows at 7 p.m. at the Fairhope Campus of the University of South Alabama. It is located at 111 St. James Street, Fairhope.
On Thursday: "The Shoah Ambassadors" shows at 3 p.m. at the Mobile Museum of Art. It is located at 4850 Museum Drive, Mobile.
The last film, on Sunday: “Remember This” shows at 3 p.m. at Ahavas Chesed Synagogue, located at 705 Regents Way, Mobile.
