Wallace State Community College Selma marketing director Johnny Moss III will be the next Selma mayor.

Moss won 57% of the votes over his opponent, former Selma tax collector, Aaron Roper.

There were three runoffs for city council.

In Ward 1, incumbent Troy Harvill won with 56% of the votes against Charles Bennett.

In Ward 5, Nadine Sturdivant won by a large margin of 72% of the votes against Timfreit Drane.

Ashley Ervin won Ward 6 with 64% of the votes against opponent Tanya Miles.
