Concerned parents and students in Tuscumbia are still hoping justice will soon be served for what happened to Deshler High School student August Borden nearly two months ago.

WHNT reported a new billboard along State Route 13 in Colbert County bearing a simple message: "Justice for August!"

An anonymous party known only as "H.T. Love" reportedly paid for the digital billboard.

"It just shows that they have community support, which is so, so important, and as a friend of the family, and knowing August and knowing what a fantastic kid he is, that just to me is just wonderful," Mary Margaret Holmes, a Deshler parent and friend of Borden's family, told the outlet.

On August 19, Borden, a 15-year-old freshman, was on his way to football practice when he suffered major injuries to his head and face. After receiving CPR, he was airlifted to an ICU in Birmingham, where he was treated for multiple injuries, including a fractured skull, two broken orbital sockets, a concussion, and various cuts and bruises.

Borden's parents were initially told another student was responsible for their son's injuries. However, school officials later said he was injured in an accidental fall.

The Madison County District Attorney's office has been investigating the criminal case since Colbert County officials recused themselves in early September.

Chief Deputy District Attorney Tim Gann told 1819 News last week that he was still interviewing possible witnesses.
