U.S. Sen. Katie Britt (R-Montgomery) helped raise $250,000 for U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) at a fundraiser she hosted in Birmingham on Friday.
According to a report by Punchbowl News, Britt, a freshman, is viewed as a rising star in the Republican Party. Britt gave the official Republican response to President Joe Biden's State of the Union address in March.
Britt has raised the eighth most of any Republican senator for the National Republican Senatorial Committee and her personal campaign is stocked with nearly $3 million, according to the outlet.
Cruz is running against U.S. Rep. Colin Allred (D-Texas) in 2024. The Republican from Texas is seeking a third term in the Senate.
