President-elect Donald Trump's new Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) led by Vivek Ramaswamy and Elon Musk should consider work requirements to receive government benefits, according to U.S. Sen. Katie Britt (R-Montgomery).

Britt said during an interview with “Alabama's Morning News” with JT on NewsRadio 105.5 WERC on Friday that she attended a meeting of the DOGE Caucus on Thursday with Musk and Ramaswamy.

"One of the things I'm hopeful that they look at is actual work requirements for government benefits. If you're an able-bodied working-age American without dependents you should be working, training, volunteering or being educated at least 20 hours a week in order to receive these benefits," Britt said.

Britt continued, "The DOGE Caucus said about $1 billion a month so to speak is sent out on SNAP benefits that are not correct."

"It totals nearly $10 billion a year when you add it all together and so these types of things shouldn't be happening. We're $36 trillion in debt," Britt said.
