ORANGE BEACH — Municipalities in Baldwin County announced the preliminary results from municipal elections.
The most heated race between mayoral incumbent Tony Kennon and challenger Jeff Boyd, a member of the Orange Beach City Council, ended with Kennon's re-election.
Kennon defeated Boyd 59.64% to 40.36%.
Orange Beach City Council races as follows: Place 1 will go to Jack Robertson, Place 2 to Ginger Harrelson, Place 3 to Jerry Johnson and Place 5 to Robert Stuart.
In Gulf Shores, incumbent Mayor Robert Craft won re-election with 57.79% of the vote. Angie Swiger received 23.39% and Ray S. Moore received 18.81%. Incumbents Place 3 Phillip Harris, Place 4 Jason Dyken and Place 5 Steve Jones all won re-election. Place 2 was won by Jennifer Guthrie. There will be a runoff for Place 1 between Austin "Coach" Boyd and Joe Garris, Jr. on September 23.

In Foley, incumbent council members Wayne Trawick and Charles Ebert III will keep their seats for Districts 1 and 5, respectively. Timothy "Tim" Lower defeated incumbent Vera Quaites and challenger Donald Barnett. In District 4, Rick Blackwell did not run for re-election. Larry Engel won the seat. Roddy Burkle won the District 3 seat, unopposed.
Terms for newly elected officials will begin in November.
