The Alabama Department of Corrections (ADOC) announced the arrest of senior correctional officer Joshua Joyner on Friday.

The Auburn Police Department arrested Joyner during a traffic stop. Investigators said they discovered approximately two pounds of marijuana during a search of Joyner's vehicle.

During a search of his home in Montgomery, investigators said they found approximately four pounds of marijuana.

Joyner, an officer at Kilby Correctional Facility, was booked into the Lee County Detention Center and charged with drug trafficking, first-degree possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Jail documents show he is being held on bonds totaling $19,000.

Joyner resigned his position at ADOC.
