The company that manufactures well-known brands such as Huggies and Kleenex is investing $130 million in its Mobile facility.

Kimberly-Clark Corporation is adding a new production line to create hygiene products. The expansion is expected to create approximately 29 new jobs.

"Kimberly-Clark is one of Mobile's cornerstone employers, and this investment reflects the strength of our workforce and business climate," said Mobile Chamber president and CEO Bradley Byrne. "Continued innovation and growth at the Mobile facility mean long-term stability for hundreds of families and a clear signal that Mobile is a smart place to do business."

Mobile Mayor Sandy Stimpson said the expansion will also secure existing jobs.

"Time after time, we see that companies that invest in Mobile keep investing in Mobile," said Stimpson. "That is a testament to our dynamic and dedicated local workforce and the pro-business climate we have worked hard to cultivate across the region."

Kimberly-Clark also manufactures Scott, Kotex, Cottonelle, Poise, Depend and other preferred brands.

"This expansion represents a strategic investment in Kimberly-Clark's future and underscores our commitment to solving unmet consumer needs through innovation," said Tamera Fenske, chief supply chain officer at Kimberly-Clark. "Our Mobile facility exemplifies manufacturing excellence, powered by a team whose skill, dedication and passion deliver the essential products our consumers count on every day."

The line is expected to be fully operational by the third quarter of 2027.
