Kohl’s is a nationwide chain of clothing stores that is “stylish but affordable.”
Like so many retail chains over the past four years, Kohl’s has suffered a drop in sales. That drop caused an announcement that 27 Kohl’s locations nationwide would be closed on March 29.
Those closures included one store in Alabama, Spanish Fort. The store was located just off Interstate 10 and drew customers, mainly from Baldwin and Mobile Counties.
Other Alabama locations remain open.
The company said employees losing their jobs at the Spanish Fort store were offered severance packages or opportunities to apply for other Kohl’s openings or locations.
The Kohl’s 13 locations in Alabama that remain open are:
- BIRMINGHAM(2)
- DECATUR(1)
- DOTHAN(1)
- FLORENCE(1)
- HOOVER(1)
- HUNTSVILLE(1)
- MADISON(1)
- MOBILE(1)
- MONTGOMERY(1)
- OPELIKA(1)
- OXFORD(1)
- PRATTVILLE(1)
