A couple in Lauderdale County has been indicted for abuse of a corpse and other charges in connection with the death of 60-year-old Wilma Irvin.
Justin and Jennifer McCain were arrested in August 2024 after they called the Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Office nearly seven hours after Irvin died. Foul play was not suspected.
However, investigators believe they moved her body to the garage before alerting authorities.
Justin McCain is charged with corpse abuse, tampering with physical evidence and chemical endangerment of a child.
Jennifer McCain is charged with corpse abuse, tampering with physical evidence, chemical endangerment of a child and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.
The two are set to be arraigned on August 5.
