A multi-agency law enforcement operation at a Decatur hotel led to the arrest of four individuals with connections to a major drug syndicate.

According to the Morgan County Sheriff's Office, three of the four offenders are being held on Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detainers.

The department posted about the weeks-long investigation that resulted in the seizure of 24.7 pounds of methamphetamine.

The criminal organization had connections outside of the United States and to several other states across the country as well.

"The operation successfully dismantled a multi-level drug trafficking organization with direct ties to Mexico, Atlanta, and other States within the United States. Agents identified several local individuals working on behalf of the organization to smuggle and distribute narcotics across North Alabama," the Morgan County Sheriff's Office stated.

During the law enforcement operation, authorities executed search warrants in specific rooms at the hotel.

Those arrested include:

The four individuals were charged with trafficking in methamphetamine. Garcia was also charged with resisting arrest. They are each being held on a $750,000 bond.

The estimated street value of the methamphetamine recovered is approximately $1,124,000.
