The Leeds Police Department announced the arrest of a 63-year-old man in connection with a child sex abuse case.

Daniel Martin Brown is charged with 10 counts of possession and possession with intent to disseminate child sexual abuse material, 10 counts of production of child sexual abuse material and one count of sexual abuse of a child less than 12.

The arrest stemmed from a Special Investigations Unit (SIU) case. The SIU, along with SWAT, conducted a search warrant at 6741 Southern Trace Circle on Dec. 31, 2025. Teams seized electronic storage devices, mobile devices and computers.

Detectives discovered hundreds of images and videos containing child sexual abuse material, according to police. Some of those images, detectives believe, were produced by Brown.

Leeds Police chief Paul Irwin thanked his team for their hard work on the case. He said Brown, a veteran, could have victims in other states. Brown previously lived in Florida and Missouri.

"As a public servant and veteran, I am shocked by the behavior of this individual," Irwin said. "Someone who takes an oath to serve their country in the United States Air Force should not be causing this type of harm to young innocent children anywhere in society."

Brown was placed in the Jefferson County Jail with bonds totaling $1.8 million.

"These hundreds of videos and images should cause him to be placed in jail without a bond," Irwin added. "I hope that we can continue to locate victims from other states so he can remain in jail the rest of his life."

While he didn't view the images and videos himself, Irwin said he has seen the effect they have had on the officers who investigated and had "to view this horrible conduct and abuse."

Brown is considered innocent until proven guilty.

The East Metro Area Crime Center, Central Metro Area Crime Center, Oxford Police Department and Jefferson County Sheriff's Office assisted.
