As big as Alabamians are on football, they often miss the trick political plays being run against their values.
Last week on “1819 News: The Podcast,” 1819 News president Bryan Dawson gave a breakdown of how lobbyists and lawmakers manipulate public perception to sneak in laws and nefarious policies.
“We live in a representative republic, but it is melted into a democracy. And the problem with democracy, though there are many, is that in order to accomplish your political objectives, all you have to do is manipulate public opinion,” Dawson said.
Whether it’s gambling, marijuana or abortion, Dawson said the strategy to manufacture public consent is almost always the same.
“This is the play, so I'm showing you guys the flea flicker that gets run on us, that is it's already happening, there's nothing we can do about it, so what we need to do is legalize it, regulate it, tax it, and give the money to the children. That's the play,” he said.
Dawson explained how LGBTQ lobbyists, Islamic activists and groups like the Alabama Education Association have used the same tactics to force their agendas into schools, churches and society at large.
“Whether the Marxists win or the Muslims win, buddy, we are getting our throats slit and our children are being raped. Like, that's where this is going. 'You're being hyperbolic, Bryan.' Where do you think it's going, if you think I'm wrong, if you don't think that's the end of all this? Whether it's in 100 years or it's 10 years or it's 50 years or whatever, that is what these people who hate Christ and hate you and hate everything that you believe are trying to destroy, everything that your forefathers fought, sweat and bled for, and we're just letting other people come over here and have it, OK? We're just letting our land be raped and our heritage be stolen. Where do you think it ends?”
Dawson encouraged voters to identify the political plays and help stop them before they build momentum.
“We can fix our state. We can fortify our borders," he said. "And we can have an incredible state that fixes our education system, has a booming economy that is not being infiltrated by Marxists and, you know, all these other things. So that's the hope. That's the prayer.”
