Lightning from weekend storms hit WXJC’s tower, putting 101.FM on low power or down time. Programming will continue on other frequencies.

The station advised that it would be down for one to two weeks to get back up and running.

WXJC posted an announcement Monday, saying, "We are grateful for our loyal WXJC listeners. Due to some very powerful lightning events, our 101.1 FM tower antenna was severely damaged to the point of needing a new antenna. While this is very expensive, we are committed to bringing Bible teaching to Alabama! This project will take us one to two weeks of low power or downtime on 101.1. In the meantime, we would appreciate your continued listening to our WXJC programming on our powerful AM 850 signal, the WDJC 93.7 HD2 channel, streaming online or on the WXJC app, or listening to 96.9 if you are in Birmingham."

101.1 WXJC is Alabama’s Bible teach and talk station, with “the best of gospel and inspiration.” It broadcasts from Huntsville, Florence and Cullman, covering northern Alabama.
