Limestone Correctional Facility warden Chadwick Crabtree and his wife Melissa Crabtree have been arrested and charged with manufacturing Psilocybin mushrooms.
On Friday, the Alabama Department of Corrections (ADOC) Law Enforcement Services Division (LESD), Alabama Law Enforcement Agency SWAT, and Limestone County Sheriff's Office executed search and arrest warrants at the Crabtree home.
According to ADOC, both were taken into custody without incident and transported to the Limestone County Jail. They were charged with unlawful possession of marijuana II, unlawful possession of a controlled substance, manufacturing of a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Court documents list Psilocybin mushrooms as the drugs the Crabtree's are accused of manufacturing.
Crabtree has been placed on Mandatory Leave without pay pending further personnel action.
LESD agents also executed a search warrant for Crabtree's office at Limestone. The LESD investigation is ongoing, and further charges may be pending.
