On Monday, an airplane carrying two passengers crashed in Limestone County, south of Elkmont, killing both passengers onboard, according to local officials.

Limestone County Coroner Mike West identified the individuals as William Lloyd Huston, 67, and Nickel Navin Desai, 31, both of Huntsville.

Their twin-engine Beechcraft E95 crashed shortly after takeoff from Huntsville International Airport (HSV).

Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast (ADS-B) data looked at by 1819 News indicated the plane took off heading northbound, and after reaching an altitude of approximately 5,700 feet, turned back towards HSV and crashed shortly after the maneuver.

The Federal Aviation Administration and National Transportation Safety Board will investigate the cause of the crash and release a report at a later date.
