Investigators with the Limestone County Sheriff’s Office arrested three women in connection with a child sex abuse case.
Crystal Lee McCart, 38, of Athens, is charged with sexual abuse of a child less than 12.
Gayla Michelle Kyle, 50, of Athens, is charged with first-degree sodomy.
Monica Anne Campbell, 40, of Elkmont, is charged with first-degree sodomy.
McCart is being held in jail on a $250,000 bond.
Kyle and Campbell are being held without bond under Aniah’s Law.
“This case is deeply disturbing, and we are committed to ensuring justice is served for the victim involved,” said Sheriff Joshua McLaughlin. “I commend the diligent work of our investigators and the support of the Limestone Child Advocacy Center for their role in this ongoing investigation.”
Investigator Kandace Wilson is credited with the thorough investigation that led to the arrests.
