Alabama Attorney General Steve Marshall announced the indictments of a couple accused of property crimes in Thomasville.

Anthony and Teresa Williams, of Linden, are charged with 10 counts of theft of property in the first degree, two counts of theft of property in the second degree, nine counts of theft of property in the third degree and five counts of theft of property in the fourth degree. 

The alleged crimes were committed in Clarke County. The Attorney General’s Consumer Interest Division investigated, along with the Thomasville Police Department.

If convicted of the first-degree theft charges, they face a statutory penalty of two to 20 years and a maximum fine of $30,000 for each count. If convicted of the second-degree theft charges, they face a statutory penalty of one year and one day up to 10 years in prison and a maximum fine of $15,000. If convicted of the third-degree theft charges, they face a statutory penalty of one to five years and a maximum fine of $7,500. If convicted of the fourth-degree theft charges, they face a statutory penalty of up to one year and a maximum fine of $6,000. 

The two have been booked in the Clarke County Jail with bonds of $450,000 each. They are considered innocent until proven guilty.
